📚 Approach & Strategies
English is adopted as the medium of instruction. The school aims at strengthening students' motivation and abilities in learning and encouraging self-learning. The school curriculum is diversified to cater for individual students' needs and interests. Collaborative lesson preparation together with peer lesson observation is arranged to let teachers have in-depth discussions and sharing on teaching. The school also employs IT technicians, AV technician and teaching assistants to facilitate multimedia teaching and other life-wide learning activities in order to raise the teaching efficiency.
💛 SEN Support
The Student Support Team(members include Vice-principal, Counselling Mistress, Special Educational Needs Coordinator, Special Educational Needs Support Teacher, Counselling Teacher, Discipline Teacher, Class Teachers and Educational Psychologist) implements a comprehensive school policy on catering for the needs of students with special educational needs (SEN). The team deploys manpower and other resources flexibly. Also, the school assign teachers of different key learning areas (KLAs) to attend the relevant training courses. | oa_orientation_activities_n_healthy_life | Two class teachers are assigned to S.1-S.3 so as to offer full support and care to students. Different measures and activities are carried out to help S.1 students adapt to a new learning environment. Orientation programmes, seminar, bridging programmes and Big Brothers and Big Sisters programme are provided for S.1 students and their parents in order to help the newcomers cope with the secondary school life and adapt to the use of English as the major medium of instruction in classrooms. To raise students’ English proficiency, the school has been offering English pronunciation class and oral practice to S.1 students.
