Our school provides a wide range of extracurricular activities. Students have remarkable achievements in Sports, Music and Arts. All S1 students are encouraged to join one Uniformed Group. | language_policy | Our school aims to nurture our students to be biliterate and trilingual, with great emphasis on enhancing students' English proficiency. In junior forms, English is adopted as the medium of instruction (MOI) for the learning of Mathematics from S.1 to S.3. Some S.1 to S.3 classes also adopt English as the MOI for history lessons. Moreover, extended learning activities in English are included in the curricula of some Chinese medium subjects to develop students' ability to use English later in their study pathways.<br>To expose students to an English-rich learning environment, the following measures are put in place:<br>(1) S.1 to S6 split-class English language teaching has been adopted. Different ability groups of students are split into smaller groups to cater for learner diversity. Our Native English-speaking teacher conducts oral and Language Arts classes in junior forms and whole-school English activities to enhance listening and speaking skills.<br>(2) Various English remedial classes are arranged, including P.6-S.1 bridging courses, S.1-S.3 English tutorial classes and post-exam/summer lessons.<br>(3) An S.1 Orientation Programme focusing on Language across the Curriculum (LaC) is arranged for S.1 newcomers while booklets with subject-based vocabulary lists including key vocabulary and phrases of all LaC subjects are designed and distributed.<br>(4) Students are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of English activities, including English morning assemblies, English Days, Drama Club, Speech Festivals, LaC activities such as 'LAC Fun Day', Book Sharing, Afternoon Concerts and the publication of MagaSun, our school-based English magazine, to apply their language skills in a language-rich environment.<br>(5) All students are required to participate in the Extensive English Reading Award Scheme to encourage continuous reading. |
