🎯 Mission

Following our founder, St. John Bosco, our school adheres to the spirit of Christian. In light of the Gospel, we provide holistic education to fully develop our students’ potentials through moral, intellectual, physical, social and aesthetic education. We are connected to the “Preventive System of Education” advocated by St. John Bosco.

📚 Approach & Strategies

Elements of value education and STEAM education have been incorporated in our junior curriculum, so as to equip our students with necessary knowledge and skills in their personal growth and care for the community. The school offers a variety of elective subjects for students to choose according to their interests and ability. Some subjects are taught in split-class, which offer small-class learning and cater for our students. In recent years, all subjects have developed electronic learning by making use of the online learning platform in learning and teaching, to make sure students can learn effectively in different situations.

💛 SEN Support

The Student Support Team, comprised of SENCO, counsellor, teachers, teaching assistants and social worker, which aims to provide learning supports to SEN students and to foster an inclusive learning environment which respects individual learning difference. With the use of Learning Support Grant, we provide specific training to SEN students such as, social skills training, executive function training, concentration training, and reading and writing training, etc. In addition, the school has hired a school-based speech therapist. Furthermore, we will provide community service activities or arts activities for students. Individual Education Plan will be provided for students as needed. 🎨 Whole-person Learning

There are more than 40 clubs from different categories, namely, religious, service, music, sports and academics. Also, there are in-house and inter-school competitions for students to participate.

oa_s1_admission Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2026 ).The admission criteria for S.1 students are listed as follows: religion, relationship with school, conduct, primary 5 & 6 school results, extra-curricular activities, discretionary places rank order and interview performance. The admission criteria and weightings for S1 DP of SSPA have yet to be finalised. Please refer to the announcement of the school in December 2025.
oa_orientation_activities_n_healthy_life The Orientation Day, Chinese and English Enhancement classes, English Bridging course, Parents Day, Moral and Discipline Training and Team Spirit Training for Form 1 students are held in August every year.

school_organisation The Incorporated Management Committee (IMC) of Salesian English School has set up our vision and mission. The School Administration Committee plans the administration work. The School Affairs Committee, Academic Committee, Student Development Committee and Spiritual, Moral and Civic Education Committee supervise the planning and execution work of all subjects and teams. Our teachers work together with the parents to develop the Spiritual, Moral and Civic education, subjects development, extra-curricular activities, sports and students' development.

language_policy The school emphasises the development of bi-literacy and tri-lingualism of our students. Junior form students are grouped into streams according to their language ability. Maths is taught in English across the whole form, whereas some subjects (Science, Geography, Computer Literacy) are taught either in Chinese or English according to their language ability.<br>The English panel offers a variety of language ability, such as prose-reading, speech, drama, debate and English speaking day, to enrich the language learning of students and prepare our students to learn in English. The school also provides extra NET to provide a language rich environment in English. The English corner opens during lunch time and after school to provide interesting language activities with our NETs.<br>Chinese and Putonghua panels also organise prose reading and debate competition and also Chinese Culture week.

Reading Team organises Morning Reading Session, talks, book exhibitions, etc. to cultivate the students interesting in reading. The school also promotes STEAM education through a series of interdisciplinary activities on STEAM (e.g. STEAM Fun Day, Maths Week, Junior Science Fair, etc) in order to cultivate students’ interests and aspiration in STEAM areas.

whole_school_approach_cater_for_learner_diversity The school sets up Gifted Education Team which aims to provide quality training for our gifted students.<br>Learning support Team is responsible for coordinating the remedial classes after school for those students in need.<br>Summer bridging course is organised for those students promoting to S4 to adapt to using English as medium of instruction. In addition, Pre-S.1 English Bridging Programme and Language Enhancement Class are prepared for Pre S1 students to help them familiarise with the new learning environment in secondary school.<br>Student Support Team (comprises of SEN Coordinator, Support teachers, Education Psychologist, Speech Therapist, Social worker and Student counsellor) is set up to cater for the special educational needs of the students.
