In conformity with the concept of whole person education, the mission of TWGHs Kwok Yat Wai College is to create opportunities for students to succeed in their educational endeavours, to nurture students to develop their full potential as well as generic skills; to master knowledge of different learning fields, bi-literacy and tri-lingualism and information technology; to establish a positive view on life and to develop an attitude of continuous learning.
📚 Approach & Strategies
Our teachers effectively use e-learning methods to enhance students' skills and encourage proactive learning. Subjects are structured with core and extended components tailored to suit students' abilities and interests. Teachers continuously improve Assessment Literacy to adjust their teaching strategies for improving students' learning. We emphasize good reading habits by scheduling two reading sessions each week for Chinese and English, promoting independent learning. Subjects also include values and national security education with relevant reading materials. A "Student Support Committee" has been formed, including the principal, vice-principal, Special Educational Needs Coordinator, support teachers, educational psychologists, and speech therapists. Diverse activity groups are provided and categorized as academia, music, interests, art, servicing, recreation, sports etc. Annual competitions among houses and classes will be held during the year. Activities and seminars on ethics, sex education, health education, ecology and civil education will be arranged too. We are keen on participating in inter-school extracurricular activities, academic, music, sports, services and field studies with TWGHs schools.
